London MCM Expo October 2007 - Part 2

On Saturday I cosplayed as the protagonist (or Misato if you preferred) of "Persona 3" (unfortunately I didn't get any full body shot of myself in the costume with my camera...) and Sunday I was Jade from "Tales of the Abyss"... [link] [link]

Now I am working on a new costume and also make an Evoker to go with my "Persona 3" cosplay for the next Expo... I hope I will be able to finish them in time for the Expo in May! *dies*

London MCM Expo October 2007 - Part 1

Last weekend was the London MCM Expo - probably the largest sci-fi + anime/manga event in UK. I have previously been to the one in Oct 06 and the one in May 07 so I had a pretty good idea on what the Expo would be like this time around. But man! I was positively suprised - the Oct 07 one has to be the BEST MCM Expo I've been to so far! Just the sheer number of cosplayers I saw there totally blew me away already! Not to mention the awesome guests they have at the Expo - author of the "Artemis Fowl" series, Eoin Colfer and also the co-author of the "Artemis Fowl: The Graphic Novel", Andrew Donkin ([link])!!! Having just recently gotten addicted to the Artemis Fowl series, I was thrilled to find out they were signing copies of the graphic novel ([link]) there at the Expo!

I had so much fun that I wish the weekend wouldn't end....

The "End" of the Harry Potter Saga (no spoilers)

I finally finished "Deathly Hallows" last night and wow! This book is probably my favourite, it might be partly due to the fact that I didn't have very high hopes after reading "Half-Blood Prince"... As JK has said, "Deathly Hallows" has the highest body counts and regrettably, that include some of our favourite characters T_T (I was crying a river in the last couple of chapters) But JK has also reinforced another point - those that died are never truely gone. My perspective on several characters were also changed very dramatically and I'm happy to say that most are more of a positive change... I am now all pumped up to draw some HP fanart~

The story in general was great. It is quite different from the others in the sense that most part of the story does not take place in the classrooms... which is something I miss seeing.... But to compensate that, questions we had throughout the series have now been answered!

Many thanks to JK Rowling, who has created the wonderful, magical world of Harry Potter! (and I hope she would write stories about the Marauders...)
